Bedford Monday 20th
Discussion
I am going to Bedford on 20th March, assume you’re referring to this Monday? 😀
I noticed booking with MSV they are charging/pre-booking garages, whereas last year they were first come first served, I’d be interested to know what take up on that looks like on Monday if that was the same?

They have already distributed a garage name list, so people are paying for them, I think they realised its a lost venue stream if they give them away, which is a shame as I've been doing Bedford since 2015 and always snagged a garage for free, but it was a cheap day anyway so no complaintsI noticed booking with MSV they are charging/pre-booking garages, whereas last year they were first come first served, I’d be interested to know what take up on that looks like on Monday if that was the same?
Missed this thread but I was there in the dirty Clio 172 (Turbo). My first TD in 10 years and loved it... saw both the 130 and TT, think I was on track with both at some point.
Was nervous about the Clio reliability but gave it dogs abuse all day long and it didn’t miss a beat... unlike my mates in M4s, Alpina, RS4 who all had various day shortening issues unfortunately.
Saw 135 on the back straight once, the turbo conversion really helps keep up with faster stuff albeit at the expense of more difficult corner exits.
Roll on Castle Combe in March.

You did well, last 3 trackdays i've been on there have been at least 3 Clio 172/182s back on their respective trailers/AA lowloaders by lunchtime and they weren't even turbocharged,Was nervous about the Clio reliability but gave it dogs abuse all day long and it didn’t miss a beat... unlike my mates in M4s, Alpina, RS4 who all had various day shortening issues unfortunately.

I had the impression they were quite tough mechanically as (fairly) standard, but TDs put a lot of stress on any car I suppose. My concern really was the gearbox as it's taking a fair bit more power and lot more torque. Lasted fine though, glad I was trailering home though and not worrying about it on the 3 hour drive home Also missed this thread. Was there in the black Skoda with orange wheels.
Brilliant day. Clocked up 150 miles of flat out motoring...20 plus TD's in the last 2 years and only one CV joint failed, is that a record?
Very few red flags, (especially compared to Donington last month). I thought that the standard of driving was good , no complaints from me regarding people not pulling over to allow passing which is probably the most major gripe!
One average GoPro vid from the morning I believe. Don't know why I didn't film any in the pm, was enjoying myself...

Must book up something for March ...

I'll be there on Monday 27th with Javalin.
It's a decent trek for us so making the most of it and visiting Santa Pod on the Sunday. Never been before so looking forward to that!
I just got a cancellation for Monday so have signed up. I was planning on a trip to Snetterton for my second track day, but for £99 it would be crazy to miss another day at Bedford. Can't wait! I think we will go again in April, it's a really good track for novice TDer's like me and £99 is a bargain...
