it is tempting, Great circuit, did it a couple of years ago, would love to do it again.

Need to find someone i trust to drive my boxster, its a long way and quite expensive to go on your own.

top tip stop by the spa francorchamps museum in Stavelot on the way back, and spectate a bit for free at Les Combes too.

Tempting, definitely tempting. Presumably the form is two nights in local hotel either side of the day.

Does anyone know, are the noise limits always the same at Spa or do they vary throughout the year - 103 drive by and 107 static?

Also is Spa hard on tyres generally? I know it will be tough on brakes I'd guess given the multiple downhill braking zones but not so sure on tyres.

Also go to Spa-racing on the right as you enter Stavelot. Really useful place to know if you have problems as they carry a great stock of all sorts of parts that may get you out of trouble and back on track. Also to the rear of the shop is a showroom/warehouse of other very fine and rare race cars that are usually for sale.

I’ll be waiting to see the Ring dates so I can tie them together on one trip.

You will love it. One of the best gp tracks in the world.
I’ll be instructing for Javelin, come say hi.

Finally did Spa with RSR back in June , great track and much quicker to learn than the Ring…will see if I can work a day in again in 2023 to coincide with my usual Ring jaunt.

Thinking about going with Lotus on track the day after the 24 hours, and also taking in the races beforehand, but also tempted to go down for the two days in November with OpenTrack, the 7th and 8th of November.

I know this is a how longs a piece of string question, but what are the chances I end up with two days of torrential rain across those days in November? Or is spa quite forgiving later in the year?

November can be surprisingly good. Probably a 50/50 chance of the day starting damp but normally if damp by lunch it’s full dry.
Many a time I’ve instructed at Spa in November and come lunchtime we are sat in blazing sun in the pitlane.
Personally I’d say it’s worth the punt.
Even if wet the track is still quite grippy in many places just slightly off line.

Thanks! I’m really tempted. You wouldn’t happen to be available for instruction that first day would you?

Open trade normally have free instruction from their guys so best thing is to email Dave Woodal and get yourself booked to get you set up.
Their house instructor is Mike Wilds. Ex F1, gpC driver so google him and go for that.

Thanks, I know, but the instruction is usually only 20 min sessions, I’d like to have someone for the day for myself and a friend to share as I find this works much better, personally.

If you’re available for the day or could recommend someone that would be, please drop me a pm smile
