I would really like to try a single seater race car experience day but I think I could be too big? The main physical requirements from ones I have looked at are a max of 6ft 2" and max weight of either 16 stone or 18 stone.

I am currently 6ft 2" so no problem there. I am currently a touch over 18st and dieting to get down to 16st. This means in theory I should be ok, but my body shape is awkward. I have a rugby/bodybuilder shape so I have quite big thighs and really wide shoulders.

So even though I will be ticking the boxes I'm not sure I will fit correctly, I know I won't be driving an F1 car but seeing F1 drivers squeeze through the halo and into the cars I would never fit!

Anyone else of similar stature driven a single seater?

I did one years ago in a formula ford, and as a 6’1in tall gym goer the only thing I found hard was getting the manual gear selector into second, because of its positioning at the side of the cockpit..

I expect that the latest cars are paddle shift now, so I think you will be fine once you reach the weight, as long as you wear narrow shoes.

Same height and similar build to myself, manage fine in single seater at Yas Marina although I did have to take my trainers off and put old school plimsole things on so that my feet would fit around the peddles.
