I'm booked on my first Nurburgring trip with Circuit Days in October and curious as to how people store their things. I usually bring a bag with basic tools and fluids to track days and leave it in the pits when on track, but I assume you're parked up in the car park at the Nurburgring. Do I just keep it in the car with me?

Even more curious as to how it works on TF days!

Hello OP

I've been going to the Ring for TF for a long time now and this is what works for me -

While at TF I'm always staying somewhere, usually at Lindner Park. So in the car I'll keep essential fluids and a tyre pump.

At my accommodation, I'll have my full tool set, spare parts and wheels.

My theory is, I'm always with mates who have their cars. So if I'm low on oil at the track, no problem. If I encounter a breakdown, someone will tow me back to our accommodation and I'll fix the car there.

If you don't want to bring lots of tools, or encounter a big breakdown, keep the number for Crown garage on speed dial. The lads saved my bacon 2 years ago and I cannot recommend them enough.

I did the July day and had similar thoughts to you. Nobody seemed to leave tools in the paddock, some did and were then annoyed that somebody else had parked in front of them as you don't really have a spot in the car park like you might in the field opposite or anywhere in the paddock at a typical UK track day.

I left the trolley jack at the hotel but had a soft tool bag of tools and tyre inflator ratchet strapped inside the spare wheel so they couldn't move about. I'm not trying to set times so I don't care about the weight and I'd rather have a few things there in case I needed them rather than having to go back to the hotel etc.

Yep, I'd just bungee it in the car.

Thanks! I'll pack light for the day and keep it snug in the boot. It helps that I'm really there just for the experience of driving the ring, rather than fast lap times smile

Small toolkit for the car, keep most of it at the hotel. I've had some funny looks rolling a spare wheel through the Hilton at Cologne to my hotel room!

As above - leave tools where you are staying. I’ve never heard of a theft but then it isn’t really the norm to leave tools in the car park unattended.
