Does anyone have any recommendations for insuring a track car which is MOTD and road registered but heavily modified , its far from a daily !

Roll cage
Engine swap
Fully stripped out etc etc

Just curious if any good companies out there ?

Thanks

Matt

I use a broker called Classic Line for my TVR, which is modified. The policy includes 6 track days cover too.
They advertise as covering sports cars, and there's a quote from a Porsche Turbo owner on their website.
Might be worth a call - they answer quickly.

I use REIS Motorsport. They’ve been great so far although never made a claim.

I think my track car costs around £150 fully comp. I don’t know the exact amount as they offered to do a multi-car policy including mine and my wife’s everyday cars too. Total cost is around £600 for all 3 cars fully comp including business miles on the road cars. The individual cost of insuring all 3 was around £900, so very happy with the saving.

REIS can also do a policy that covers the car on trackdays as part of the policy.

I should also have said that the more modified and stripped the better for REIS. My car is like Triggers broom, I think the only original part is the chassis. I tried to insure a Mini JCW I previously owned and they refused as it wasn’t modified enough to meet their criteria.

I used greenlight for my last R53, which had a huge spec list. Was pretty cheap and included track days in the policy.

I was insured for about 6 years on my TT with Adrian Flux before she became a full-on trailer queen, extensive mods, completely gutted, 3000 miles per year, £300

I have used A-Plan in Thatcham for many years, they always did a full check every year & frequently the cost for renewal actually went down.

Have you tried Keith Michaels? They've always been popular and well rated with track day clio and impreza owners.

Another happy Greenlight customer here. Have used them to insure my modded track cars for years.
