I was on track at Goodwood on Saturday as part of Players Show and came across this rather poorly driven Supra. Spoiler alert, I do finally get past him at the end of the video driving

Frustrating. The M3 has so much track balance, a really nice package by the looks of it.

Straight line hero, looks like he was flagged in at the end? I might be mistaken.

Thanks, most of my development time has been spent on chassis and aero modifications. It's really starting to pay off.

A classic of the genre.

Showy car, loads of power, zero talent, awareness or circuit knowledge. Not all that common on track days, but annoying nonetheless.

Allowing you to get alongside before he gave it a bootful makes it look like he was on some kind of ego trip. I had the same following a tuned Focus RS around Cadwell in my 200bhp Mini. I ended up letting my frustrations get the better of me, and pushing him hard through the corners, to the point where he was barely in control of the car. Thankfully my passenger was the voice of reason, and I backed off to let him get away.

That was the chequered flag for the end of the session.

Somewhere out there will be a thread where the Supra driver is boasting that he "kept a time attack M3 behind him"

Back in the day when briefings were in person, I remember one of the instructors saying:

"If there is a car behind you, unless it's just been been dropped by a helicopter, they're going faster than you. So don't be a berk and move over as soon as it's safe to do so"

The in person briefings were much better. As well as words of wisdom like this, the TDOs could see when there was a bunch of over-excited lads and have an extra word. I wonder if they'll ever come back

100% agree, the online stuff is more convenient but nowhere near as prescient.

It used to be good getting a briefing about the lines around the circuit etc as well.

This one was an in person briefing, so sadly even that wasn't sufficient

Trying to drive round that laggy over boosted Supra looks like a real bore, fella needs to take that to the drag strip for more suitable fun.

Just me disappointed it wasn't a 2005 Audi A4 diesel estate, full interior, stock engine, **** tyres, towbar on the back?

Agree that you were obviously faster, and that if a car appears in your mirrors out of nowhere then it basically is faster than you.

That said, what was the point of the video? Why not come into the pits to avoid getting stuck or even have a word with the marshals?

You get people like that on TDs all the time, no point posting videos online to publicly shame them.

There was no option to come into the pits, it was a 15min session on track with the pit lane closed. I did have a word with both the Marshals and the driver after the session. The driver's attitude was that it was my problem for not going past him when he pulled over, not his fault for not lifting.

No point in waving your hands about getting annoyed.
Either full send or back off for a bit and get on with your day.

I feel your pain.

If it had been open pit lane then I’d have said have a drive through the pits and tell the organiser or a marshall. I’ve had to do it a few times and they’ve always been really happy to get the feedback and have always acted upon it.

I agree I’d like to see a return to face to face briefings as it seemed to happen less frequently before though I’m not sure the type of moron that was in that supra would have the ability to listen and understand a face to face briefing!

On balance I was on a track day at cadwell park last week with open track and the level of respect and driving was really good, slightly too good as I wanted to follow someone to learn the lines but they kept moving out of the way and letting me past!

OP yes he's not a good driver but you lost you temper and got super close to his rear. It's not a race day

You both should have been sin binned , although he was the greater offender
