I am after a set of Ferodo DS2500 front pads for my MK1 Skoda Octavia vRS.

My usual supplier had none 2 weeks ago and now I find they are closed for this week, (Cambridge Motorsport).

Starting to panic slightly as I have a TD booked for Friday week at Mallory.

Anyone with a fav supplier that might help or suggest another competent pad that I can source from stock?

Cheers.

Try Demon Tweeks, they will have them I expect.

I get DS Uno from them which aren't common and are expensive but worth it and good on the road too.

Just had an email from them......Apparently yes, may be in stock. @ £177.41 + VAT! Need to call tomorrow.

Just found my invoice for the existing pads which strangely against my memory are Hawk HP+.

They have been good, no fade, good wear but very noisy when hot!

It will be good to try the DS2500.

Apparently there isn't a DS1.11 that fits my calliper. I know a lot of you guys like these.

2500 is pretty much a road pad, nothing at all special about it.

From Ferodo.

H: DS2500.
DS2500 is amongst the foremost high performance track day pads in the business. It is also suitable for some light duty front and many rear pure race applications. It offers excellent refinement for such a high performance pad.

The main characteristics of DS2500 are:
Track day & light race use for all vehicle types
Road style refinement but with race material ability to withstand heat with respect to life and µ
Average friction coefficient of 0.42 over working temperature range of 20°-500°C

I've used them and they're ok but they aren't comparable to Uno/1.11/3000, different level altogether
I wouldn't go racing with them on the front, rears maybe ok.
Track day may well be fine under light loads, who knows. Every setup is different.
Check out the graph on the Ferodo website, shows the temps and Mu thing for comparison.

eta, there's no such thing as 'light race use' lol

To be fair to the DS2500's, I have used them for a shed load of TD's on my old TVR and have them fitted to my Boxster S for TD's

Never once have I had an issue, performance has always been outstanding.

Yeah, if they suit the application then fine but I found on my little back street belter they faded after a bit and weren't up to the job.

After a bit of phoning around, (due to a lack of pads specified for the vRS) Chris at Demon took measurements and photos to cross reference them.

He was successful and pads ordered.

Price is eye watering.................£219.00!

That and £600 paid for a set of R888's this week brings home the cost of our little pastime. That's just for a VAG 1.8T!

Thanks for your help guys.

I have noted your suggestions for when I put Brembos on in the winter and for my Boxster.
