Old BTCC car running costs

I cant be the only one who's glanced through a certain racing car sales website and stumbled across some 90s and 00s era btcc cars for relatively low prices? Surely there's got to be a catch, particularly with the 00s cars?

So does anyone have a rough idea of what it would cost to track these and if its even possible to run them yourself?
