Clio 4 RS - opinions / alternatives?
Discussion
Any opinions on here on a Clio 4 RS as a track day car?
I know it will not be as popular as a Clio 3 RS (manual, n/a), but I’m planning to use it as a town run around as well (babyseat in back hence 4 doors, park at station when commuting as track day stone chips and dinged station car park dents are basically the same, easy to park, etc).
Also, what are the must have when buying / upgrading?
If not, what alternative?

I had one of these and I think you could do worse for what you're after. Despite the reviews they're fun to drive, the gearbox isn't that bad in sport/race mode. The seats were good and supportive although a touch high like most hot hatches.
Seems to be pretty good availability of parts for things like brake pads etc. Standard brakes were good enough on the road, but aren't the 4 pot brembo calipers as on the 3rs so probably won't hold up to the same level of abuse. Don't seem to be as well supported as the older models, but doesn't sound like you're planning to strip and cage it!
If it were me I'd drop down a size on the wheels (18" with a 40 profile as standard) for a bit more sidewall and some track focused tyres for track days. The standard size wasn't the most common so might give a few more options.
