I have heard rumours that Silverstone are exclusively going to run their own track days next year
and hence no third party organisers will be able to offer track days there ..... is there any truth in this?

But it's ok because Silverstone are so good at organising everything. Oh, hold on, I meant they are a complete bunch of incompetents. How the British GP ever happens is a complete mystery to me.

I`ve heard it from several sources now. Silverstone will be running all trackdays themselves from Jan 1st 2022.

No Low number, overtaking both side RMA days. No low number Goldtrack days. No cheaper days with other TDO`s but more cars on track.

Now it`ll be whatever Silverstone decide and we like it or lump it. frown

I’m struggling to see why this is an issue.

As a participant, why not just wait and see what the offer is?

If you were a TDO I can see why there would be an issue, clearly!

The problem is I like choice and not being told what to do all the time.

I like RMA days. I like Goldtrack days. I like to have the option of going with whomever I choose to go for and not days where they try and jam in loads more people.

Yep, it’s happening. Silverstone are prioritising other types of events, manufacturer launches and xmas lights are more lucrative it seems rolleyes .

If only the circuit was controlled by some kind of organisation with an interest in using it as a race track, maybe things would be different paperbag .

Nothing lasts forever and at least I’ve got to drive on it and enjoy it. Just means higher prices if I want to in future direct to Silverstone.

At least it hasn’t gone the way of Rockingham, that was a fun circuit

Seems a bit harsh on both the TDOs that have supported Silverstone over many years and also everyone who drives cars that are excluded on Silverstone organised track days. Imagine what will happen to track day prices if Motorsportvsion were to do the same thing with all of their circuits.
Could be the end of being able to drive our cars on mainstream race circuits.

It might make it more expensive if they make them exclusively available through themselves, but why would it stop you being able to drive you car on these circuits?
