MSVT Brands Hatch 07/09/21
Discussion
Hi,
I did my first track day at Brands Hatch yesterday, I purchased the track academy package - instructor sits in with you during the day. It was educational and enjoyable. The only thing that marred the day were some drivers not following the rules of the day, a couple of times people overtook me on the corners and on another occasion a driver overtook me on the driver side. I have no problem with slowing down on the straights so another driver can overtake and put my indicator on so they knew I was waiting for them to overtake - I did tell the instructor one of the reasons I wanted an instructor was so that he could watch out for track users and keep them and us safe. I just thought that MSVT would have enforced their policies better.
Apart from that, I had a really awesome day, looking forward to the next one...
Thanks
Haider

I was there as well, the problem car for me was the black racing mini (looked to be challenge spec) that tbh was driving terrible lines and treating the entire day like a race. Overall it was pretty good with a handful of reds compared to some days I have had at Brands.
What where you in? Might have some video.

I’ve only done one track day at brands hatch but all credit to the marshals and track day organisers but it was the best I’ve been on for enforcing driving standards.
I think it’s just luck of the draw with who else is on track, and if the marshals see it, don’t be afraid to bring it to their attention, just have a drive back through the pit lane and ask them to have a quiet word

They had a dedicated person just monitoring and dealing with driving standards yesterday at Brands. Every wrong side overtake, aggressive driver and track limit infringement was approached and the warning system used. You won't necessarily see it being done but they were on it. Doesn't stop the driver doing it in the first instance... an arse is an arse. Drivers reporting others specifically, just with minor detail, is enough and important.

I was in a black Boxster (987). I saw the mini too, I thought he had diarrhoea and was trying to get to the loos...What where you in? Might have some video.
