Hi All,

Just signed up for the Full Day session. First time ever doing it. Anyone else going on the 11th Sept session?

Any words of advice/wisdom of how to get the most out of it?

The event is designed for all skill levels so beyond the basic instructions in the invite that you're likely to have received just make sure you listen to the safety briefing carefully and the single seater briefing. The instructors will do the rest of the guidance. Have a great day. I am sure it will be.

Let us know how you get on too, I've been wanting to do a Palmer sport day for a long time, just too expensive for now.

For some reason the Clio cup car is the one that really tickles my fancy out of the current range, that and the radical type thing.

I have done it a few times, would love to do it again. Great fun. Fully agree - the instructors are very helpful, just listen to their advice and enjoy an amazing day.

Just do it, it’s bloody brilliant!
Although I didn’t particularly enjoy the Clios - perhaps due to the instructor being a bit overzealous on the dual controls.
The FPA and F3000(?) are mind blowing.

Definitely one of the best days I've had.

One of many highlights for me was the Caterham - in my (cack) hands it had a propensity for spinning but just felt so nimble.

For some reason didn't really get on with the Clio, and finished about 10 places down compared with the other cars.

The timing adds a nice competitive touch too!

Me too! Did you find the instructor inputs on the dual control obtrusive?

Suspect it was more my problem to be honest! I do seem to remember feeling the dual controls used noticeably though whereas I didn't in the other cars. In particular the "anti brake" pedal they had which seemed to force your foot up off the pedal was a bit disconcerting.

(I did also manage to spin the Clio, but we'll gloss over that...)

Damn, I thought you were older than me! tongue out

Do you do the Palmersport thing when you got you VX?

Seriously, it’s not expensive - it’s a bargain! It is a lot of money though…

Foxy? :-D

Back to Palmersport - best taking own helmet (full face) or do theirs have intercomms?

Guides advise to your theirs due to intercoms.

It is so bloody good, actually good value despite the price!

As others say, listen to instructors and fight the urge to brake early….you will brake so late and so hard you won’t believe it. Really bury the pedal….both on accelerating and braking.

On the single seaters get some clean space in front of you so you can really go for it

I was there, had a great day. I didn’t drive that well, managed to do ok though. I’m still utterly useless at the Land Rover!

How did everyone else get on?
