My usual home is donington, after a day out yesterday i've goosed the blue NDX after only one event on them. Fronts are probably 80% worn, with rears around 40%. Some pads work, some don't - NDX's didnt!
I'll be going back to CL RC6e front pads for silverstone and i'm still drawn to try RSL29's next year once the CL's are done although it's becoming more evident that swapping to race-only pads are going to be the ultimate reality for the FK2-R civic for track use.

Brake choice isnt the point of this thread though...

Quick question; in order to gauge tyre & brake wear, does any one have even a vague estimate on how the two circuits compare to each other? It's my first time out on silverstone and i know donington is heavy on brakes. Am i right in expecting maybe 20-35% better brake life and equal tyre wear to donington?

It’s obviously very difficult because lots of factors but my observation is that you’re largely correct. Silverstone is less heavy on the brakes. Tyre wise I’d say it is more level and I notice on the GP track that my left to right wear is about the same whereas at Donington the left side (near side) wears more.

I found the National circuit to be very heavy on tyre and brake wear compared to other circuits, mainly because of the high speed braking zones followed by long corners. Silverstone GP is less wearing in my opinion as the car can cool a bit in open areas, whereas the National is very much a back to back workout.... a bit like Brands Indy.

I'd advise monitoring your pressures and cooling down a bit every couple of laps.
