Which track would you mow into it for some off road fun?

I’d say 1/4 scale..

Nordschleife- Might need a big field even at 1/4 scale though.

Yeah, too big + its as much about rise and fall with the ring, probably include spa & leguna in that deletion as well.

I penned the area i’d like to use and its familiar as it stands, i do have the option to go over the back of our land which has rise & fall but i’d rather leave that alone really.

Crosses are an orchard i planted so dont want to ingress on that.

A couple of tweeks and you have a mini Croft right there.

I can vaguely imagine spa francorchamps fitting into that space... ish...

Or the old hockenheim track. Or maybe le mans?

mm..

Marked out using G. Earth, the back straight is 300m so an ok 1.2km equivalent, the machines i get will probably do 40-50mph max so should be ok on a 300m straight but i wouldnt want a 2nd 300m straight on the return and theres plenty of infield to play with as its 40m deep, wouldnt mind a hairpin in there somewhere.

i’ll take a look at some race track outlines, any ideas where theres a database for track outlines?

Try looking at some kart track layouts?

Spa is a good shout, mount panorama looks ok to, monza turned over would work but its a track that relies on fast sweepers

Ah you've already ruled out spa... sachsenring? Nogaro? Vallelunga?

Only on size but i guess i just reduce more, as long as its shape fits and it has some twisties then it should be considered really

Mount panorama but again, it relies on elevation changes so would be lost somewhat

Mugello?

Nothing is gonna fit perfectly, so might have to mix and match your favourite bits...

This is brilliant OP, I am very jealous, I have the means but not yet the opportunity to buy some land, my life time ambition is to own a sodding great field like that.

I've done this in the distant past but racing on fields of wheat after the harvest, we used to turn the track over and then roll it. Some points you may already know... I wouldn't make corners too sharp / tight as the cars will bog down and then churn up the surface. Also good luck in anything that doesn't have serious tyres on with the current weather and state of the fields, if you are doing it soon anyway!

More recently I did a jacked up MX5 with big all terrains for field shredding, it's absolutely epic!

Much epic, but I'd be really worried about it rolling over.

It's actually got a 6 point cage to go in already, but yes there is a fair amount of risk!

We used to do this sort of thing in the huge field next to my mum and dads house (after harvest naturally). Even in an old landrover there was never any risk of rolling. The only issue is big ruts, you'd definitely break something if you hit them at speed, possibly internally.

Shout when you’ve got a track together, I’ll bolt the knobblies on pop over from Berkshire to support you testing it driving

You could add Silverstone's Becketts complex along one of the straights? High-speed esses are fun. But be wary of trees being in runoff areas!
