I was at Donington yesterday for the first time and have to say that it was fantastic. I was curious if anyone knows the history of it being blue and white (seen in some videos on youtube and also in Project Cars 2), but now is red and white like every other track. Before going there, I had thought the blue and white would give it a bit more of a charm.

i've often wondered why some circuits have certain colours, or if there is any regulations about the colour of kerbs.

obviously red and white seems to be the most common, then probably blue and white. but occasionally you get an italian track which is red white green white, or even spa francorchamps, which might be unique in not having any white at all - most of their kerbs are red and yellow.

any interesting colour combinations i've missed?

Very quick answer, thank you! I guess I've only been on MSV tracks so only seen the red and white.

Interesting thought! Two that jumped to mind are Albert Park which is green/yellow and Interlagos which is green/yellow/white.

Somewhat related but on a visit to Mallory recently I did like their "spotted" kerbs on the exit of the harpin, something a bit different! biggrin
