The new Garmin catalyst has great reviews from track users in the USA , it seems amazing as a device to improve pace but as it also records lap times would it be usable on Uk track days ?

Yes, because you aren't actually live timing, you are using an app that lets you review your times after you have finished, there are MANY apps that do this.

Its a little bit special, ive had my eyes on it for a while. Its not like every other app, thats for sure, the biggest difference is the real time coaching and that it automatically give you the recommended improvements afterwards. You should join the facebook group of catalyst users to see how people uses it and what pros and cons it has. For my part im out because of some stupid limitations it has. Like you cant export the data and compare to any other drivers for example, and some other deal brakers, which i see as necessary if im paying that much money. But many people rate it highly aswell, and that it help improve the consistency and driving performance.

I enquired about it but the fact it doesn't take in the ODB2 data from the car put me off, ideally I'd want throttle position and also RPMs for each corner.
