The Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tyres recently came top in a tyre test done by Circuit Driver. They are a track day derivation of the road tyre "Pilot Sport". I can vouch for the road tyres - which are long lasting, grippy and excellent wet or dry. Other PHers have experience of the track day tyre.
I was advised NOT to use the track day tyre on the road as they are unsuitable for wet conditions with any standing water.
They are, however, road legal and one can change one's wheels/tyres at home, drive to the circuit and drive home on them.
This is the route I intend to go down at some point - an extra set of wheels shod with the Cup tyres.

NightDriver said:Perhaps I misconstrue your words, ND, but did not the CSL come with Cups as standard? Some did. Also, a lot of GT3 RSs came from the factory with Corsas (I don't know about the "C" designation).
However that is for sprinting and the P-Zero Corsa/C and Sport Cups are not allowed for production cars so unfortunately never used them.
I'm am just going from the rules published in the MSA Blue Book. The Corsa/C and Cup are listed on the tyre list 1b, for sprinting in 'roadgoing cars' class you must use tyres from list 1a.
It was just something to note in case the car might be used for sprints in the future to save another set of tyres being bought.
