Winter project prep starting to come together now, so the road/track car will be going one step further to the track side with buckets, harnesses and a cage.

I’ve never bought buckets before, so i’ll be heading to Demon Tweeks to sit in as many as possible (if C19 allows), but is there anything I should specifically look out for or avoid?

Height and harness hole position seem to be the main thing from a bit of research.

On paper I like the look of the Sabelt GT-3, whether I’ll fit (6ft2, 38/40 waist and 16st) is another question 😂

Some of the seats such as those from Cobra, have removable/changeable seat cushions to help with fit/height although your choice of side mounts will be important. Some seats also come in a GT width I.e. wider although you’ll need to check how much space you’ve got to fit the seats between the transmission Tunnel & the B post?

I hadn’t considered cushions being removable, one to add to the list of questions/checks.

It’s for a mk2 Megane, so space shouldn't be an issue I don't think, quite a few options for direct fit side mounts too, so hoping theres enough options available once I’ve settled on a seat

Just be VERY aware of head-height restrictions if you intend to track & wear a helmet.

I changed seats in both an e36 & Cooper S & both required fairly major considerations to make sure I had enough for my 6ft 5 frame complete with elbows & all.

Cheers, I have the dimensions of the recaro trendline to go from as a bit of a benchmark, as they’re the seats being removed.
New base mounts are considerably lower than the standard ones, so should be plenty of room.... hopefully scratchchin
