What do the new restrictions of a maximum of 6 people at any social gatherings mean for track days?

If it's a "covid secure" venue then it should be OK.

In Southern Ireland it’s 15people, so at mondello they just had “pods” of 15people in the car park as opposed to haveing the car park fulling open, it ticks the box

Booked onto my first track day in my own car at the end of September, my first thought was if it was likely to be going ahead now, surely an organised event falls under the no more than 6 people gathering?

They have been very organised so far on this stuff so give them (MSV, TDOs etc) the chance to keep it going and hopefully we can keep playing through this change of regs beer

Don’t see any reason they’ll be affected. They’ll just need to be socially distanced as they are now.

They have a already banned spectators, have organised the briefing to be socially distanced and told everyone to keep their distance likewise.
Don't forget that outdoor events are a lot safer than doing a track day in a concert hall.

I could be about to hear different, but would suspect that we will see no change.

Agreed. They are not gatherings.

Seems like organised (sporting) events don't fall under the 6 people rule. So expect it to be fine.

I did an event today (will create a new post as it was awesome) and the event was well managed.

Face masks in the building, only drivers allowed in for the briefing hence well spaced out and not too long.

Higher grade certified masks needed for use in the car unless an open car. Drivers and instructors.

Gel and soap in various places.

Helmets cleaned between users.

All waiting around done outside.

Slight tweak to their regs that simply says don't hang around in groups of more than 6. Job done.

MSUK have issued new guidance for race meetings saying every to wear a face covering at all times in all areas (even outside), and if you are exempt from wearing a face covering you can't come to the event!

Wouldn't be surprised if track days adopt this also?

Why?

If it means you able to get to do the events you want to do, it is a VERY small price to pay.
