Got a track day booked in a few weeks. Starting to think about getting there and staying the night before. Driving there and back in my Atom so should be errr... an event!

Going to drive over Sunday arvo from Birmigham, any advise on routes or where (or not) to stay up to an hour away with a decent carpark. Anyone else going if they fancy a beer the night before beer

I’d make sure it’s still going ahead before booking a hotel etc if I were you.

I’m waiting for the circuit to reopen for trackdays so I can get there on my bike. They’ve only had one private test day there since the lockdown and no word of them fully reopening according to the organisers I use.

I know a guy who owns a garage a couple of miles away from the circuit and he hates it being so quiet there. hehe

Afraid so, all other UK circuits are open except Anglesey. Hopefully they’ll be back open soon. As soon as I hear they’re open again I’ll be booking a day or 2 there.

If it makes you feel any better, I’m in the same boat with bike trackdays. Everything is booked solid and I’ve only had one day at Mallory this year.frown

Not sure about the circuit but good luck finding somewhere to stay in the next few weeks Cheeky - Anglesey is absolutely rammed at the moment ... all those stay-cationers have descended on the island, never seen it so busy.

Stating the obvious, but the A5. Had a very spirited drive from Shrewsbury to Anglesey a few weeks ago. The road was virtually car-free and the weather was perfect. Both rare circumstances together!

Ah, was planning to go that way - is the A5 still covered in unmarked vans and cameras?

No. I honestly saw perhaps 6-cars total. It probably won't happen again! All the stars aligned that day.

A pal of mine was there at the weekend in his Porsche. Not sure if it was a closed session but it was definitely open at the weekend. They had to wear masks in the cars when 2 up.

I managed to get a single room for the Sunday night. The hotel is pretty remote, off a B road with nothing else round. Rather anxious about leaving atom out over night to say the least! Would take a 2 man tent but weather looking inclemental... You book summer track day and it pishes it down ffs. Should of got an Exige!!

Ach, it'll be fine. It's Anglesey, not the Bronx! hehe

I'm there tomorrow as well in my M3. I've never done Anglesey before, weather is actually looking pretty good!

I'll keep an eye out for your Atom.

Hey Rob - enjoy - alas last minute technical hitch means i wont be there..... Was putting my "quiet" exhaust on this AM and by chance saw some damage to right rear tyre, Kuhmo V70 track tyres arent off the shelf at kwikfit. Gutted (but glad im not driving on it) as the weather certainly has perked up, ive been looking forward to it for months! crycry

Yeah I saw that post on Trackstormers, I had a hunch it was you. It was a good day, weather was superb and hardly any red flags until the very end.
