Decent hotel near Spa

My wife and I are doing a bit of a road trip middle of August. Need a decent hotel reasonably close to Spa for a couple of nights followed by 2 or 3 near the ‘ring.

Any recommendations chaps?

I always use Hotel de la Source https://www.hotel-de-la-source.com/en/

That's when going on a track day for proximity reasons but it's a decent modern hotel in its own right and very cheap. Secure underground parking too.

Excellent. The food is a bit pricey but the Italian at the top of the hill is very nice (10mn walk) if you need to eat locally after a long day hiking. It's called Acqua Rossa, which is a terrible pun on "Eau Rouge".

Monschau for Spa, fabulous place.

I’ve always stayed an hour or so from the Ring because the “commute” is so enjoyable. Boppard is lovely. Cologne good too. Landhaus Mullenborn worth a try in the middle of nowhere

The dorint at the 'ring is ok and relatively cheap.

I have stayed in this B&B in Francorchamps before. It was great, warm welcome, comfortable bed and a good breakfast.

As others have suggested we went up the hill to eat, both the Italian and the bar opposite were good.
