After trying a few different TDOs, Bookatrack seemed to strike a very good balance with slightly more expensive pricing and far fewer cars on the track. That meant red flags were rare and you ended up with some quality track time throughout the day.

Unfortunately they seemed to have turned into Want2Race and offer far fewer track days nowadays. I've been using another well known TDO recently who are good value, but I miss having a clear track and higher driving standards. I did one this week; there were 8 red flags.

In lieu of Bookatrack, what other TDOs would you recommend who are more expensive, but put less cars on track?

I have used Goldtrack for a number of years now who I would have thought fit your description and who I have found to be very well run.
If it was their day at Silverstone on Monday you were on then there were more red flags but I put this down to a lot of cars being out for the first time since lock down began and is not typical of their days.
Hope this helps
David

Try Lotus on Track with your Cayman. They don’t have saloons on their trackdays though. Good pricing, lots of circuits, really well run and fast well behaved drivers.

Thanks all, I'll bear those in mind.

Has anyone used RMA?

The posh end of Trackdays.

Get some nice kit going round.

Best bit is they allow overtaking on both sides which means it flows well on circuit.

this. However with majority of days being sold out i did see Dony the other day was booking only lotus/vx220 (so excluding pork and other rwd brands)

Just stumbled upon this thread about RMA which looks... interesting.

Goldtrack seem to only offer Silverstone and Spa days at the moment. Lotus on Track is a good recommendation, I hadn't heard of them before. Shame they won't allow my FK8 on track though!

Any other recommendations are welcome. I'm ideally looking to go back to Donington - it's a shame because Bookatrack used to have loads of days there.

I’m using want2race for looking after my track car this year and transporting it to all the tracks and I’ve got to say they’re a great bunch of people.

They store the car and prepare it very nicely for each outing - I’ve found it to be a great service and the track days themselves have all been well organised and lots of fun.

Can’t really fault them but as mentioned before I do wish they had Oulton, Cadwell, Ty Croes and a few of my other favourites on the calendar. Maybe next year they will :-)

Good to know. smile

A big factor can be track days that are a short time before race meets. Things like young Ginetta drivers and cheap racing hatchbacks using the track days as test days and running out of talent on a regular basis...

You’ll be fine with RMA. Sadly their legendary briefings were extinct long before covid biffed all live briefings off so a good bit of the entertainment has gone but both side overtakes works well on a flowing circuit like Donny - keep your eyes open and you’ll have a good day.

RMA are great, a day at donny with them will be fantastic, it’s like being involved in a moving motor show of super cars. I really enjoyed the Live ‘your all going to die’ briefing I once had with the old chap at SPA, characters in life these days are hard to find.
