brake disc recommendations?
Discussion
hi folks,
car is a 440i.
did 1 track day in it last year, no issues.
i know all the usual stuff - i swapped to track pads, performance brake fluid etc.etc....
got my 2nd event coming up in 2 weeks at Donnington.
my front brake disc thickness is marginal. Been on the car since birth (2016), including the track day at bedford.
last year they performed fine. i'll probably do 3 half-day sessions this year only (maybe 60 minutes in total for each half day)
i'm not sure what to do:
- is it worth me getting a 2nd pair of discs that are purely for track day use?
- or can i get away with replacing my marginal OEM ones with a set of slightly better discs that will last 2 years + a handful of track days?
my budget isn't poverty spec but i'm happy with middle of the road stuff, given that its just occasional track use and its my daily (which i only do about 8-9k miles a year)
any recommendations?
EDIT:
found these - seems perfect. Can anyone do any better?

If that is all you are doing track wise I would just stay OE or equivalent well known brand, you have had no issues so far.
decided to go with your suggestion. you're right.the other ones lasted almost 4 years + 1 track day.
a pair of OEM Zimmermans were £150 vs £330 for dba.
