or just put road legal track tyres on my 16 inch turinis?

If I got track day wheels I would want some team dynamics and looking at new it ends up about £8-900 for a set plus decent tyres?

Seems like a lot to pay when I could just stick some tyres on my current wheels...OR just carry on with standard tyres until they are finished.

No need to spend money unnecessarily IMO... use the tyres that are on there first while you learn the car (dont forget to rotate otherwise the fronts will wear out miles before the rears) then get some road legal track tyres, assuming the clio is 95% a track car.

Yokohamas or federals would be my bet, should be cheap for 16s.

15" wheels can a bit lighter, and the tyres a bit cheaper. You do see sets come up for sale, and sold fairly quickly, regularly on Cliosport.net.

I've bought a set of bright blue 15" OZ F1's from a PH1 for my 172 as track wheels/tyres, and think I'll be able to sell them on for a similar price when I'm finished with them, despite their horrible colour.

Don't need to spend £800-£900 on trackday wheels. Braid do very cost effective options and are strong, light wheels with loads of brake clearance. Or even cheaper, a spare OEM wheel set.

I have treaded tyres on a set of spare OEMs and R888s on a set of Braid Fullrace to cover for various conditions - I do also drive to/from track.

Just get a cheap set of 15 inch spare wheels and then buy a set off eBay cheap used track tyres, you can get really good ex Gingetta Junior Michelin PS4’s for a set of 4 for £125 done one weekend on 7mm and vw Fun Cup semi slick Citi tyres with plenty of life in them for £130
For 4 just search eBay and get a set of 15 Inch clio or megane Coupe alloys for £100.

I used 15’s on mine, back in 2004/5 as they were much cheaper to buy than 16’s, which were also harder to find in some makes.

It was the right idea then, and I don’t see why it won’t be now.
