Taping up your lights.
Discussion
Masking tape is usually OK. Quite a few people with expensive motors doing airfields (or known gritty tracks) will do the entire fronts of their cars and sticky-out bits like wheel arches with clear sticky-backed plastic.
Personally I like strapping sickly-smiling estate agents spreadeagled to the bonnet - face forward - so they pick up all the flies in their teeth.
Whichever way, there's usually some sort of residue that'll need cleaning off.

The last few times I've been there to see / take part in track days they don't seem to care if you tape up or not - I didn't, sa didn't a lot of others and we were all fine.
If you're worried about you lights though, then I've seen most people use siver duct/gaffer tape. Personally I think I'd use something like thick masking tape to try and keep some paint on the car after I pulled it off.
