Been rattling my brain and wonder if anyone can help me. Does this type of car exist

A 2.0 naturally aspirated 4x4 car. Not talking about buying Evo and taking the turbo off. Like this spec from the factory

How about a naturally aspirated 2.0 Impreza? They came from the factory without the turbo.

How far do you want to go back? Is it just a question, or are you looking for a car?

Over and above the Sierra, there were Cavalier and Calibra 4x4 versions too iirc.

More recent, other than the normally aspirated Impreza? There was a 4x4 Octavia, I wonder if that was done with a 2-litre normally aspirated engine. Also no doubt there's loads of weird and wonderful JDM stuff that would throw up a few results, e.g. certain Mitsubishi Gallant versions.

Weren't the Cav & Calibre turbo though?

Not 100% sure without googling.

You could have a 2.0 or a 2.0 turbo

Land Rover Discovery 2.0 MPI (unhelpful, I know)

You could buy the Audi 80 with quattro in Coupe or Saloon flavour, without a turbo. Subaru also made a 2L Legacy with 4x4, as did Mitsubishi with the Lancer.

There were 4x4 2.0 Pug 405s. The 90s Escort 2000 was also available with 4WD.

Plenty of choices, albeit obscure. Seems like odd criteria. The Impreza is probably the most viable option.

Thanks all. I was racing this weekend and was thinking what the optimal car would have been under regs and conditions

Got to love the obscure questions smile
