I messed up and bought 235/40/18 profile AD08Rs which are rubbing on my wings (should have gone 225/40/18), I think the blocky sidewalls aren't helping things and I'm not too sure that they wouldn't rub even in 225 width.

So...

My question is: do Toyo r888s have a less blocky profile compared to the Yokohamas? Pictures online would seem to suggest this is the case?

Cheers

I would say the R888R is a bit more rounded than the AD08R.

But, it depends on the wheel width... ?

Thanks - yeah I'm hoping a combination of a slightly narrower width and the rounded corners will allow them to tuck up into the wheel well - we are talking mm's here, so every little bit matters. I just wish there were pictures from the front that would settle this.

That *might* help you. The AD08R is very broad shouldered.

Sorry to hear that OP, they are very "square" indeed. I'll happily buy a couple off you if the price is right.

How about adding some negative camber? If its that little the camber could be enough. Or maybe you have bottomed that out already.

I've had fast road alignment done - not sure exactly how much negative camber this gave, but there is already some and I don't believe the current suspension will go much further. Changing tyres is (much) cheaper than the cost of the suspension upgrade that i'm eyeing up for later down the line!
