Couple of names would be helpful as I'm getting quotes of £300+ and £3.5k excess for the old barge!

"Insure my track day" have been fair - excess is 10% of the car value. Very easy to get a quote online or on the phone.

Have just changed normal insurance to Greenlight and they are offering 65 pounds per trackday with a fixed excess of 1500 pounds, I think the guy said if you do more than 5 a year it goes down to 40 pounds per TD.

I used to use MORIS, insured my VX for about £270 initially, dropping each year. This was with a 10% excess and covered 5 TD's a year.

I have used Reis and Moris but haven’t had to claim.

Moris. Fixed excess, not 10% of car value and helpful to deal with.

Tried this lot now, thanks. Quote above was from Moris!

I've used MORIS for years (and not claimed), so I assume there's some loyalty/no claims discount being applied, but I pay less than £300 for 4-5 days cover (£15k cover, £1500 excess) during Touristenfahrten.

Greenlight. Fully comp annual policy for < £200 and trackdays at £45 per day with excess doubled from £350 to £700

Do they really cover TF? If so this is where I’ll be going in Jan.

Yes, first party only of course, just like most other track day insurance.

We have used Reis for race day cover and have been unfortunate enough to have to claim. Our car was a total loss but the money was in my bank account within 3 weeks so cant fault their service if you have to use it.

+1 for MORIS.

The trick is to buy as many days in one go as you can afford (my GTi was £230 for 8 track days) and then you can claim back the money at the end of the year for the ones you don’t use. Their prices for 1 or 2 track days seem a lot higher.
