Trackday - Goodwood
Discussion
Just wanted to say, I had a wonderful half day track day at Goodwood yesterday. I took my Ford Focus RS Mk3 , it was so much better than me. Was great to feel how much it could cope with my hamfisted driving of it.
The Goodwood team are fantastic, very professional.... A bit expensive, but highly recommended.

It was a birthday present, but I think it was around £160 for half a day... Not cheap I know.
When I arrived they do a noise test on the car, you get a little sticker to say it passed (you can get them to do it before you book as well).
Then they do a safety briefing which goes through the flags, the rules (i.e no overtaking on corners and when a car comes up to you faster than you move over to the right with you indicator on so they can go safely passed).
Then after the session you queue up for 15 minute track time each car is sent out at around 8 second intervals with initially 7 cars on track, later moved onto 9 cars on track.
A thing to note (which I didn't know) in a normal car you must not wear shorts, legs have to be covered. In a convertible you need your arms covered too. Obviously you need a crash helmet too.
I had my dad, my son and my friend with me and you can have one passenger per session, and as long as they have been registered they can go in one or more of the sessions.
Overall fantastic day, as I said a bit expensive, but lots of fun.

Certainly was my Black A45s floating about, was just letting a couple of family members have quick go in the afternoon as in the morning Luke from Hampshire Photography was cracking out some very nice tidy quick laps.
Possible you tube video going out tomorrow from him................

Thank you for comments and sorry you we didnt have a chance to catch up with you as all love to have seen your BMW (so nearly brought an m2 competition)
I've treated the car very easy until yestersday, however all that drove the A45s yesterday have come away with expectations challenged.............not sure if you saw the older guy who went out later in the afternoon driving it but he took it to another level.........
