It's my first trip over in a couple of weeks since 2012 - what's the situation with filming and getting through the barriers with a camera? I've got this camera mount which I've used to stick to the passenger window to mount a camera. Will I get through with it?

Thanks

Unlikely, even UK TDO's won't let mounts like that on track.

It needs to be a proper solid mount or they will not let you on if they see it isn't a good one.

Thanks. Something like a headrest mounted one then?

Either that, or one screwed into something fixed, or a proper 3-cup suction mount with tether.

How do they tend to treat helmet-mounted GoPros (with the 3M adhesive pads)?

I've seen a fair bit of TF footage filmed with them, but that's not always a guide if they are inconsistent.

don't know about the 'Ring, but I know some tracks require a mechanical fitment (i.e. not a sucker or velcro, but an actual clip) as well as a secondary attachment (e.g. leash)

That was my concern.

Short of wrapping around my neck, I have no idea where a tether would go!

On my helmet mount, I have an adhesive mount for the clip, and then I pass the chin-strap of the helmet through the loop on the tether. It's never fallen off but if it does, it'll just dangle from the helmet strap

Passenger grab handle is a good place to hang a small camera

I was at the Ring this weekend. They didn't seem bothered/checking anything to do with cameras and our car went around with a GoPro mounted on the side window inside without a secondary attachment. TBH as long as you'd paid for a lap that was all they seemed bothered with. There were too many cars to stop each one and check things like cameras.
