I'm off to the French Alps for a few days and plan on driving back via the Nurburgring. I'm hoping to get a full day's woth of TF in. The insurance etc is all paid up now, so no excuses - it'll be my first time there since 2012.

Anyone else planning on getting some laps in on the Sunday?

I'm planning on this weekend too, shame the track is closed on the Friday though. Will go out watch the VLN on the Saturday and TF on the Sunday.

Hadn't realised VLN was on but I'm coming via Switzerland and won't arrive until Saturday afternoon, so would miss out anyhow.

I'm in a Peugeot 208 GTI but plan on doing as I've done in the past, and blag a few passenger laps in more exotic cars by using my card to cover their lap cost.

Hoping for good weather!

The weather's looking good for tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

I'm in a white 208 GTI if anyone fancies a chat between laps.

How did yous get on over the weekend?

Here’s a video of a lap front Sunday in a EP3. Weather was good and the track wasn’t too busy, despite the Nurburgring car parks being full.

I did my first ever laps in a cosmic grey EP3, something I'll never forget. Great video by the way. Is your car silver with an Irish sticker on the back? If so I followed you for a while but couldn't get close to closing the gap.

I really enjoyed it, and having had a 7 year absence felt very nervous for the first few laps. I managed to get 10 laps done without incident and sub-10 minutes. Happy with that considering the nerves. Weather held up and the car parking spaces started to free up later in the day, so all good.

I've seen the video of the aftermath which closed the track. Not nice.

That was me! I spent most of the day letting faster cars pass, then following. Looking back at some photos now, I think I saw your car in the ticket car park!

I managed to get 7 laps in (bringing my Ring total up to 10 Laps) mainly trying to keep everything cool. I’ll try to get a sub 9 before the end of the year.

The closure on the Sunday morning or Saturday evening? I would be interested to see it, I couldn’t figure out why the long closure on a Sunday.. I passed the accident on Saturday, everyone ok thankfully.

I think mine was the only 208 GTI out there on the day and has quite a distinctive plate.

You were going well, pushing harder than I was prepared to! Some really good photos were captured too.

I think this is what closed the track down for a while. Watch from 4m 30s onwards. Not pleasant seeing the guy being wheeled into the back of an ambulance. Makes it all very real.
