I have seen that Lydden Hill still has places for tomorrow, its not open pit format, but would still be interested in going...

Any opinions on this track? Thanks

Update: went down today, this is a great little track, with a few tight turns and hills, with the added excitement of overtaking everywhere and on both sides. This is either the stuff of nightmares, or will put a huge grin on your face.

Overall standard of driving was good, barring a couple of dwandlers holding everyone up by not letting faster cars by, and not helped by there being no blue flag. Was mostly stripped out quick hatchbacks on semi-slicks, and a friendly crowd.

The only negative point is that for health and safety as mandated by their insurance, they require gloves to be worn (which wasn't clear on the website), so we turned up without any... BUT we had the option of buying some, which turned out to be workmen gloves. So we bought clunky workmen gloves for £10 or risk being sent home. I reckon these increase the risk of an accident from poor car control much more than driving without gloves, especially in a manual car. But insurance and common sense don't go together. At least they should consider selling proper driving gloves rather than literally interpreting the rules with clunky workmen gloves.

Definitely worth a look, just bring your own gloves.

It is cracking little track in a nice location with a friendly crowd. I am glad it is off most peoples radar.

And yes agree - those gloves they sell - what are they thinking!

Pat Doran’s mob may have blagged a container load of said gloves off a truck at night on the A2 in a lay-by near Dover?!

Fabulous circuit and love the way their track days are run. If you get a chance try and get some tuition off Bill Richards he is one of the uk’s quickest saloon racers and is the circuit track day master tutor on how to get round the circuit as quickly as your car will go.
