Anyone using an AMG GT on track?
Discussion
My father in law has an early AMG GT-S, and in race mode the exhausts aren't THAT loud, especially compared with some modified stuff that you see at TDs. Fabulous thing to drive, fun in race mode and super comfortable in comfort. You can always tone back the exhaust if you're struggling with 105db limits though.
Personally, i'd rather take something slightly more lightweight for the same money for track use, unless you're looking at a one car fits all.

I was on a track day at Angelsey with one - it left me standing on the straights and made a lovely rumble/roar as it went past.
Didn't seem unduly loud and lasted the whole day. And I had 400 bhp in 1100kg of car, so wasn't exactly slow myself.
Only the AMG GT and the GT3RS passed me the entire day.
I cannot vouch for the age of the car - I think it was fairly new.

I’m glad to report the my GTR was measured at 97db during the static noise test, with the exhaust valves in both open and closed states.
This is a bit strange as the valves definitely make a lot of difference in noise, but seemingly not a lot when revving at 4,500rpm in park.
What mode did you have it in? The valves open in stages at different throttle positions. Valves open, isn't open at part throttle unless you get an Active Sound Module. This is a bit strange as the valves definitely make a lot of difference in noise, but seemingly not a lot when revving at 4,500rpm in park.
