As per the title.

I am looking for a junior track day (14 years of age) along the lines of half a day driving a sports car, and learning lines, instead of "drive three super cars for five minutes" type thing.

Any suggestions please? Midlands location needed really.

The 1/2 day drive from MSE sounds like what you want. Never done it.

I spoke to the above people, but there are issues.

They can only do Abingdon, they can only do one hour and they don't provide a car.

I ideally want somewhere in the midlands, a half-day session and with car provided.

Any other ideas please chaps?

Give Ginetta a call, I believe they do this sort of thing, to get youngsters into their junior programme - it's probably not going to be cheap..

Might also be worth calling Three Sisters circuit, they might be able to do a 'one off' for you.

I was also going to suggest Ginetta. This will be at Blyton, not exactly Midlands.

It's 45 minutes north of Newark-on-Trent, which is in the Midlands.
We don't all live in Beermingham, you know. whistle

I called Everyman this afternoon and the girl who answered was utterly useless. She didn't understand what she was selling, didn't listen to what she was being told and tried to sell me a rally driving day.

Not sure if this will help but have you looked into Autosolos?

These are probably the simplest form of motorsport (essentially navigating through coned routes) but provide a full day of competitive driving.

They are held all over the UK, dependent on your car/motor club, so you shouldn't have to travel great distances.

The cons are that you don't get given a car to drive (you will need your own, road legal car) nor will someone be there to learn you the 'lines'; you'll get given a diagram of the route and then it's down to you to decide the racing line.

The pros are that youngsters can take part (if accompanied by an adult - you will need to check with the car/motor club and event regulations), is relatively cheap to enter (usually £30-50) and is immense fun. I'm sure you'll crave the next event.

A good place to start is: www.gomotorsport.net (the background image on the website is from the 7Oaks Brands Hatch Autosolo FYI).

It may not be of interest but it's something I would have appreciated knowing about at 14!

Equally, try grass autotests, over 14 can do it so long as the passenger has a road licence
