Anyone at Blyton Park on Sat with Mazda on Track? I'll be there in my grey Mk1 with my son. Feel free to say hello.

I did the last MOT day in my VX220 last March.
Might pop over this weekend if the weathers nice but won't be tracking.
Will probably do the mid March Javelin day.

I’ll be there in my Skoda Fabia. I’m assuming you mean mk1 mx5?

Sorry, yes it’s an MX5. It’s my son’s first track day and to say he’s excited would be an understatement.

I will be there in my NB MX5. Trying to decide what the weather is doing to determine if I fit the hardtop or not

Every forecast I’ve seen is saying rain so I’d probably go with the hardtop.

No hardtop here and whole car leaks like a sieve. I'll just be keeping my fingers crossed.

I'll be investigating tonight whether my gazebo fits in the car. Somehow I doubt it.

Was a good day despite the weather. Very slippy track in the wet with all the dirt on it.

Does anyone know if there was a photographer at the event? or has anybody got and photos?

Thanks

There wasn’t a photographer as far as I’m aware. I’ve uploaded some videos to YouTube and there’s another person who’s put one on too.

Had a great day despite the weather and me probably being the slowest person on track - my son absolutely loved it. Agree it was rather slippery and I did spin a couple of times. Had some great tuition from Nick.

I've got some video footage which I'll upload to Youtube at some point. I should have some good footage of a silver Mk2 spinning out just after Bunga Bunga, if that's anyone on here.

With a 4 hour round trip to the day in a totally stripped car with a rather loud exhaust, I bought 2 pairs of these when I got home : https://www.screwfix.com/p/3m-peltor-optime-iii-ea...

Had a great day at Blyton. have only ever done a full day on the Eastern circuit in the past, as well as a couple of the outer in other peoples cars, it was great to be able to do both on the same day!

The changing weather was quite a nice mix up for the day, especially with lenient marshals allowing us to a bit of sliding about.

Well impressed with everyone's driving standards on the day, a refreshing change.

Will upload some vids to YouTube over the course of the week. Didn't take any photos I'm afraid, too busy having a laugh.

Haha That's great, I'm glad he enjoyed watching me trying to get the thing round... You should have come over would of gladly given passenger rides.

I'm sure our paths will cross again, it was my first MOT trackday (Sorry Nick) and I will definitely be doing another soon!

Loved your car by the way...throttle bodies, right?

Cheers

That's the one, being rather gingerly driven around - first time in the car and first track day for 5 years. It's safe to say I won't be troubling Lewis for his spot.

We'll definitely be back, Blyton is the only venue that'll let him passenger, all the others have minimum age restrictions.

I like Blyton, it’s a nice relaxed atmosphere and the MOT days don’t attract idiots either.

I had a great day especially chasing the black Subaru. We must have been going for a good 30-40 minutes whilst I was trying my hardest to keep up. I was impressed that the only issue was hot brakes after running flat out that long. There was smoke coming off the Subaru’s calipers so we both were trying hard.

What age will they allow passengers down to? My nephew would love it.

I think I may end up going throttle bodies, and cams!

I got within 1.1 secs of lewis' time on the outer circuit, not bad with 7 year old tyres on the front and 100bhp less 😂

Fancy trying out the inner circuit lay out, never done it before.

Cheers

No age restriction, but he needed to fit in the seat without a booster and the harness to fit appropriately. As such the passenger bucket seat is small and I had the base raised so the shoulder straps for the harness fitted properly. He also needed to provide his own helmet, which I already had.

It does however impact your driving, I was very aware my son was in the car and drove accordingly. Well, that’s my excuse for being lapped by everyone.

I was also admiring your car on the day. Do you have a build thread anywhere? Considering ITBs myself and would like to see you progress.
