Thruxton Experience
Discussion
The experience is from the ground up. You need know nothing other than simply turn up.
I've driven at Thruxton myself a few times its quite a fun track. Your instructor will guide you round it and they cone the track quite comprehensively so you won't get lost.
If you are a total track newbie here are a couple of tips:
Brake smoothly but very, very hard, coming off the brakes smoothly. Your instructor will be happy to take you to higher speeds and have you brake later if he knows you'll scrub the speed back off before you get to the turn in point.
When your instructor says brake - do it. Hard.
When your instructor says something like squeeze the throttle - do so.
When your instructor says something like "go" then bury the pedal in the carpet...all the way down. Do not lift until your instructor says "Brake".
You should always be accelerating, braking or turning (whilst squeezing the throttle).
There's a whole load of detail but bearing that lot in mind should mean you have lots of fun.
Enjoy yourself!
