Just booked the first track day of the year at Bedford autodrome on the Saturday 30/03/19 as it is one track that I have wanted to do and will be a good place to start the year off and get a feel for the car in its new set up .

Anyone going on this date ?

I was there on there on the 22nd, we did the GT circuit for a few hours then switched to the shorter South West circuit because Autocar were filming on part of the circuit, before switching back to the GT circuit. Two circuits for the price of one!

Not the most glamorous track, but a lot of fun.

I will be there on Monday. First time out since fitting a Honda engine in the Elise and so fingers crossed that we make it through with no mechanicals!

I’m sure you’ve got your best thermals ready for the trip down. A hearty breakfast will warm you up when you arrive there biggrin

Was very nice to meet you and hear about the car. Sounded absolutely nuts past the pits!

I met a few people on the day, what were you in?

It was a good day with great weather and I got home without anything going wrong and so all good.

Great to hear you had no problems.
We met briefly before your second fill up, passenger in the mx5. Seeing and hearing yours makes me want one again.

I remember you both and following the flame spitting yellow peril on throttle bodies. It looked great.

My good mate was there in his civic, got sent home for noise after 3 laps poor bloke frown

The fog seemed to exacerbate the issue from what i hear, as did another chap in his m4?

They are tough on noise. My M3 barely passed at 98db in the static noise test.

The chap in the M4 did indeed get sent home as although he passed the static test, it was tripping the drive by noise monitors. At least he got some laps in before he had to go!

It is a fantastic circuit for trackdays, nice and long and wide so no bunching of car's together. The circuit layout (GT) is fun, good mix of straights and different speed corners. I will certainly be going again.

Is it 98 now? It was 101db static when I was last there.

Completely agree that it's a fab track. Very good for a beginner too.

Your friend's M4 must have a modified exhaust as they're usually quiet and don't bother the noise sensors, maybe he has a map that adds those over-run crackles pops and bangs?.
