Hi all

My car has stripped out doors, fixed window, no wiring, minimal metal. I want to put something over it to keep arms and elbows out incase something goes wrong, but I want it to be lightweight and cheap.

I'm thinking about something like the pvc material that's used to make banners and such like. Any experiance in whether this will work well, or any recommendations on a more suitable material?

Thanks
Matt

I was looking at some HDPE sheets on eBay to do a similar job - Never got around to it though. Have a google on HDPE and see if it fits the bill...

Doorcards you mean?

Try foamex, 3-5mm should do it.

Crikey i'm struggling with black foamex.

Can't find it locally, and even in the 3mm thickness for the sizes i need (QTY2 1100mm x 700mm allowing for a bit of trimming) its coming in between £40 and £50 for the materials.

HDPE sheet seems heavy for the size, and similar cash too.

Any other ideas for a cheaper alternative? Is there other brand names which maybe carried locally?
