Looking to do a track day in July 2019 at one of the following French tracks and I'd like to know what PH think is the 'better' of the 3:

Clastres
Folembray
Abbeville

I'll be driving a Caterham R500 if that makes any difference.

Thanks & festive greetings,

Not driven Clatres but of the other two I'd choose Abbeville, great track and you can have some fantastic fun there, also consider Croix

Did Folembray and Abbeville last year. Of the two, most people preferred Folembray as found Abbeville to be too 'go-karty'. However this is from people mostly in heavier road cars - eg GT3s.

I was in a KTM XBow and enjoyed Abbeville too - you may be the same in a caterham. If you enjoy sliding the caterham around then possibly Abbeville will be better - it is closer to Blighty too!

By way of video comparison:

The track looks more interesting for a heavier car than Abbeville. smile

Haha..

We enjoyed Folembray. It was a private day so mostly friends or friends of friends. The setting in a clearing in the woods is pretty cool. The track is a bit simple but does allow you to open the throttle for a fair amount of it which is nicer for the heavier cars.

Abbeville by comparison is like a gokart track where you are unlikely to get beyond mid revs in 4th on the one straight and the rest is 2nd/3rd gear short sprints before another 2nd gear corner. I enjoyed it in the XBow but most others in the heavier GT3 style cars did a few laps and then chilled out.
