Hi,

I am thinking of applying for a race license and cover the theory and practical points to obtain it.

Q's:

- What are my options in the UK?
- Any recommendations on who does it?
- Is it cheaper to do it outside of the UK and if so where?

Thanks!

You need to obtain the competition licence pack from the (newly renamed) "Motorsport UK" organization (the governing body, formerly the MSA). I think the link is on here:
https://www.motorsportuk.org/Competitors/Competiti...

This pack will explain everything that's needed. You will need a mnedical and then go to an authorised race school to do the theory and practical tests.

I really recommend these guys: https://www.themotorsportsschool.co.uk/

Give them a ring and they will talk you through it

Second vote for Motorsports School, Pete is a top guy and well worth contacting if you're looking at racing.

That said, you didn't actually mention going racing, just passing the test. If you aren't planning to race next season I'd suggest that you don't waste your time with the licence test (let me give you a clue, you'll pass) but instead spend the money on a days coaching on a trackday, you'll get much better value out of it.
