Anyone know of any offroad places to go for Under 17s or people who have no license to practice driving?
Around The Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire Area preferably - if you do know of anywhere please post anyway (May be of use to me, or anyone else needing this info)

Thanks!!

Not off road but I don't think you need a provisional licence to do it... guess it would be a good starter?

My 14 year old is a member of this club:

www.under17-carclub.co.uk/

Which he absolutely loves! Also, he will pass his driving test when he turns 17 saving a lot of money on driving lessons.

I believe that Gold Track now have an insurance facility to allow under 17's to drive accompanied by an instructor on track days. I think this is based on them actually being able to drive fairly quickly by as opposed to learning but it's excellent for those that can.

My three children now adults learnt to drive through the U17CC.

The eldest son we gave the day of his 17th birthday to drive on the public roads and he took his test the next day passing FIRST time.

The next son took his test on his 17th birthday, he to past FIRST time.

Unfortunately my daughters birthday came after the new test procedure and had to take the written test before taking the practical, but she did pass FIRST time about a week after her 17th birthday.

So far none of them have had an accident.

I can recommend the club as giving good structured tuition and the oppertunity to drive other vehicles, IE HGVs and skid pan cources
