Hi,

I have booked myself onto the performance driving course in your own car at Knockhill. This is 1 to 1 tuition on track in your own car with a qualified instructor. Just wondering if I need to bother about insurance? I have seen mentioned that as it is 1 to 1 tuition it is not classed as a track day so there is no need for track day insurance. Anybody have any knowledge of this?

Thanks,

Mark

It's a good thing you asked....... I'm looking for a similar thing and will have the same question.

If you don't mind me bolting onto your thread, does anyone have any recommendations for one to one track tuition in the south of England or am I looking at the Silverstone Own Car PTU package as a best shout?

Why not phone your insurance company and ask?

If it makes you feel any better, the chances of crashing under tuition at knockhill are absolutely minimum - the instructors are really good, there will be no other traffic near you and it is much safer than driving down an average country road (wider, smoother, no oncoming traffic, good run-off areas).

I would not bother if its 1:1 tuition. In fact you would benefit fron it more and will also learn more if you dont push the car too much and concentrate more on what you are being told😉
