For anyone that has missed it, we'll be at Silverstone again this Friday and Saturday with track sessions at the all new MotorsportsDays.LIVE event.

It's £70 for two 15 minute sessions, which includes entry for two people into the event (usually £35 per person). Full details available here: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Alternatively you can use code PSTH10 to save £10 on a general entry ticket if you book before midnight 1st November.

Check your email from no-reply@motorsportdays.com , it indicates if it's morning or afternoon session.

What I found strange that, after I bought the track day tickets, I did not receive 2 entry tickets but only received codes to redeem tickets from another page, which ended up in my spam folder.

Took me a while to work that one out, then I saw it hehe 2019 thread here: https://www.pistonheads.com/news/general/motorspor...

I'm pretty sure you have to book either an AM or PM track session but if you're unsure, best to contact the event organisers directly to double check.

I thought about doing this again but last year the driving standards were none existent, road cars, race cars, demo's, all at the same time and big willy low power race cars on slicks diving on the inside and the outside simultaneously and into corners under braking......on a track day.....my car almost was almost hit multiple times in one session. The worst track experience I have ever head. Never again.

I didn't go on track last year but can't comment but they have created separate road car sessions this year that our group will be going out in so we shouldn't be out with race cars or anyone on slicks! Sorry to hear you had a bad experience but we'll pass your comment onto the organisers.

That sounds horrible.
This will be my first track day, I hope they'll sort out these.

With only 20 cars on track (sold spaces per session) I cannot imagine it being too bad on a 15 minute session
Anything ridiculously fast would only be able to pass a couple of times at most
An informal chat on the day could position you at the back of the pit lane when things kick off
So your in a more comfortable routine, tyres up to temp etc when any seriously fast traffic catches up.

Could pistonheads/Silverstone team provide some yellow/black cross stickers just to underline that not everyone attending is a wannabe vestapern looking for a new drive next season ?

Reading in more depth I assume that they're selling 20 spaces, so could well be quite busy in the end depending on number of factory entries ?

Just to confirm – I've spoken to the organisers and last year there were issues with race teams going out on track during the public track sessions. There's a new coloured wristband/sticker procedure in place for this year to stop this happening, so it should only be road legal cars out on track.

There is a max of 35 spaces on track for each group. This is what we've run at the past for our taster sessions for Silverstone and it works well so I wouldn't be concerned about it being too busy, especially as the international layout is longer than the national that we used to run on.

As per Bens post hopefully they do not tolerate the behaviour i saw, I've been doing track days for near 20 years so I have seen it all. Just keep your wits about you and stay out of trouble and you'll be fine. They say overtaking is left only but people will go down the inside so just let them be on there way. Have fun and just be smart and you'll be fine. I decided not put my Porsche back on track for my second session last year, it wasn't worth it.

Hi , really looking forward to Saturday. Will be in Lotus Exige doing two sessions with my son having his first outing in the car . Like the idea of being able to identify novices , makes a load of sense

I love seeing an exige at a track day! They are usually the best sounding cars in my opinion. I’ll be in a white M140i trying out upgraded brakes and control arms for the first time 😋

Apart from the red flag and the rain, I quite enjoyed the morning seasons. Afternoon seasons seemed a bit crowded.
Thanks for organising.
