Big event which I've been looking forward to all year... me and a mate will be there in a fairly standard BMW z4 3.0, so while it'll be alright through the corners, we'll likely be keeping right on the straights!

First time we'll have been to spa as well.

Anyone else going along? while we'll obviously be spending most of the day in the z4, I would like to befriend someone with something properly fast (Ferrari, Porsche, radical?) to get a passenger ride in... after all, how often do you get a chance to be driven at speed round Spa?!?

I am there instructing for CD, and my wife will be on the desk doing registration and keeping us instructors on our toes. Blagging laps is fairly easy with the CD events at Spa. Always a lot of regulars attend.

thanks for the heads up - just picked up a fire extinguisher to put in the car as well since CD said that was a requirement.

is there normally a good mix of cars or is the majority of stuff quite serious? never done a CD day before either!

Spa insist on the extinguisher but in all the years I have instructed there (20 odd times a year) never seen anyone check for them. But hey you never know when you may need it.
Generally a good number of brits attend CD days but as it's Spa you often get interesting stuff turn up.

Am there both days. Black 997.2 GT3, no Spa expert by a long shot but happy to gove a few passenger laps.

As others have said its easily the friendliest track environment ive been on, the CD guys make it all very relaxed.

I was on track for this, first time at Spa and had an absolute blast... despite the weather!! Great track etiquette, some amazing cars and a very well run day. I will be trying to do more CD events in future. smile

I also wish I'd seen this thread before I arrived because I was the silly Scottish to$$er who turned up in shorts and then had to panic buy and wear some nomex long johns under his shorts for the rest of the day... striding around looking like I'd escaped from a local institution. laugh

Note to self, check this section of PH more frequently.

I was there on the Tuesday & also did Zolder on the Wednesday (will defo be returning to Zolder as like Spa this was an epic track).

Was in a White Golf R Estate & my pal in his White R35 GT-R. Weather was somewhat of a let down, so returning with CD for their Nov date to try & get that sub 3min lap timesmile
