Hi all,
Do any of you know of any 'airfield days' where it would be possible to undertake some 'straight line' performance tests on my modern classic?
I'm thinking along the lines of the locations / airfield settings that you see in the on-line review sites such as carwow and carbuyer, not to mention 5th gear / Top gear. I deliberately said airfield as opposed to tracks as the nature of the tests often needs a 'slower' more deliberate start, say accelerating from 20-70 in 3rd/4th/5th, or for that other benchmark of 30-70 through the gears.
Santa-pod could be an idea but doesn't seem right with one lane tearing off away from the line, whilst the other line is in 5th accelerating from 20mph!
I would love to see how some of the old and modern classics compare against the contemporary tests of the day. Why? because I'm a bit of a car performance stats nerd! I'm sure there are others out there!
Any advice on airfield days greatly appreciated.
