Just booked my first trackday of the year and noticed I need to fill out a form to use an in car camera and that they threaten to charge you a £300 fee if you post the footage online. First time I've seen this, are they seriously trawling You Tube for people broadcasting their trackdays?

Rockingham perchance? Seem to remember people wanting to film there had to fill in a form etc.

It's Rockingham, yes, although when I tried to google for some info on this I found MSVs form also included a line saying you couldn't post footage (but with no mention of a penalty). I suppose I don't really care that much as I'd just make the vids private, just wondering if anyone had actually been targetted for transgressing?

Now this is kind of amusing...I've just answered my own question.

I trawled back through my emails to the last Rockingham trackday I did in 2016 and in fact they asked for that form back then too. I can't remember if I signed it or not but I did have a couple of videos of the day up on You Tube without being arrested, executed or deported so I guess they're not enforcing it too hard.

I'm doing a trackday this weekend at Rockingham (MX5OC) and there doesn't seem to be too much footage on YouTube, this would explain why. I wouldn't say they're enforcing it otherwise there would be minimal footage on there. Seems a bit silly, not sure why they'd be bothered by someone posting their footage to YouTube?

I guess maybe they want to keep their options open so they can pressure people to remove footage that they don't like. From a marketing perspective, no TDO wants videos up of people having their pride and joy written off in a crash on one of their events but I doubt they mind videos showing the (much more common) pleasant side of trackdays.
