Hi folks, hoping you can help. I have a 2016 Ariel Atom, went to Oulton Park a couple of times last year, that was awesome, this year I'll repeat the same, but wondered what I'm missing in other types of events. The idea behind this plan is to go to a few more closed-road events, on small tracks, car-park sized events, where you circumnavigate the cones, or similar. Where I can mix with like minded people, drink coffee, and amuse the odd passenger. These have been a bit tricky for me to find, I guess they're known to car clubs within their local area. Lancashire is best for me, but I don't mind a drive if it's gonna be worthwhile

any suggestions, locations or dates you can tell me would be most appreciated

cheers

Paul

I tried my local clubs, but felt very much like the odd one out. I understand that Atom's clearly aren't as common as say the classic Escorts, apart from a few local car clubs, I'm surprised at the lack of choice, maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places ?
would like to get involved, and being in that scene, I would then know of what events to attend, by other members or probably by their facebook group

Hi

Google "SD34 Autosolo".

The events you're describing are called AutoSolo's and the largest group in your area is the SD34 motorclub (and there's the ANWCC series too)

Also there's the Three Sisters 'Car Track Attack' days

Plus of course you could quite happily do Sprints / Hillclimbs in a road going Atom at any of the North West Venues (Aintree, Three Sisters, Scammonden, Barbon etc) though you'll need a MSA licence (non race Nat B so simple & cheap) approved - Helmet, Race Suit and Gloves.
No mods required to the car (other than a timing strut) either as far as I'm aware.
