What car do you have and what exhaust are you running .

When I did a day there earlier in the month it was 90dB static at 3/4 max revs (around 4500rpm in my Volvo with a 6500rpm redline). Think it'll depend what mood the noise tester is in on the day if you're just over the limit.

There cant be any remotely exotic cars on a Thruxton track day.

Its a shame as I’d love to drive it again (I did an ‘experience’ day there many years ago) but there’s no chance I could get my car to pass the noise test.

I've been on track days at Thruxton in an R8 v8 and an E46 M3. Unless your car is one which only just gets in under 100 dB I think it's worth a try. They do seem to be reasonably helpful in getting people out on track. (But don't blame me if you fail... :-) )

it's 95 or 92, cant remember, but it's the lowest in the coutnry.

my mk3 mr2 passed but the R32 Nissan GTR that rocked up failed (who'd have thunk it) last time I went, plenty of people bunging exhausts up though.

Its 90db static, if your at 91db you may get on. - The limit is very very low.

For perspective Bedford is very tight on noise but its 101db static.

Speak to the TDO they know noise is an issue at Thruxton and some will allow you to pitch up, get noise tested and if successful only then pay for the day. (This is obviously subject to how much availability they happen to have on that given day)
