Best ratchet wheel straps for trailer
Discussion
Not sure what forum is best sorry, but figure most trailer types will look in here.
My ratchet straps are getting a bit worn and are a bit cheap so prone to snagging up etc.
There is enough to do on track day without faffing with crap ratchets so what is the best ones to give me an easy life.

I've just ordered a set of 'over wheel' straps to replace my standard straps using a link strap. Can let you know how they compare.

I've used this type for the last 10+years and it's been happy days for me.

I also use the over the tyre type with good results.
One thing worth mentioning, some of them come with blocks that the ratchet strap passes through, which has grips/teeth on the bottom to grip the tread and stop the strap moving on the tyre, i think these are worth having, espeically if you are moving a car on slicks.
Thanks
Matt

I went for the strap instead of blocks as I don't think I have enough clearance to get the strap with blocks in to the wheel arch and on the tyre. Hopefully I don't need the blocks but I can always buy them in the future if I do…I hope! One thing worth mentioning, some of them come with blocks that the ratchet strap passes through, which has grips/teeth on the bottom to grip the tread and stop the strap moving on the tyre, i think these are worth having, espeically if you are moving a car on slicks.

I use these on my race car / trailer:

Much less hassle than conventional ratchet straps.

They look real easy to use but I suspect only suitable for cars with fairly open arches, wouldn't work on my car for example:http://www.slingsandstraps.co.uk/vehicle-transport...
