Hi, making my first strides into Caterham racing with the Caterham track day at Silverstone. Thought it might be useful to experience being on track with a load of other (supposedly fast) Caterhams.

Is anyone else on here going?

Welcome, Yes i shall be there on the 25th with the Caterham Graduates Racing Club. Whilst i won't be on track for this event i have raced with the Graduates in 2017 and there are some fast people out there for sure. This is the Pre-Season track day for the racing club, and will be people from various classes taking part.

Classic > Vauxhall and Ford engine Caterham Scholarship / Academy cars from 1995 – 2000. 1600cc 8-valve engines, producing around 100 bhp (1994-1999 Ford cross-flow, 2000 Vauxhall). The cars "live" rear axles with upgraded Rakeway rear driveshafts. Tyres are Yokohama A539s.

Mega > 1600cc Rover K-series engine cars from between 2001 and 2007, with optional engine upgrades to produce approximately 140bhp. The cars can run standard or optional wide-track front suspension. An upgraded TranX gearbox may also be fitted. Tyres are Yokohama A048s.

Sigma > Includes both Caterham Roadsport specification cars from 2008 – 2013, with the 1600cc Ford Sigma engine (approx. 120bhp), and Caterham Roadsport specification cars, from 2014 onwards, with the 1600cc Ford Sigma TiVCT engine (approx. 125bhp). Tyres are Yokohama A048s.

Sigma VCT > Based on the Caterham Motorsport 270R specification with the 1600cc Ford Sigma TiVCT engine (approx. 130 bhp). Tyres are Yokohama A048s.

SigMax VCT > Based on the Caterham Motorsport 310R specification with the 1600cc Ford Sigma TiVCT engine (approx. 150 bhp). Tyres are Yokohama A048s.

SigMax > Based on an upgrade of the 1600cc Ford Sigma engine Caterham Roadsport cars from 2008 – 2013 to Caterham Supersport specification, incorporating engine modifications (approx. 140bhp), limited slip differential and wide track suspension. Tyres are Yokohama A048s.

You'll find the sessions will be divided between racing club members, and then some slower sessions for those such as wifes/siblings/friends etc.

If you let me know what you'll be driving I'll come and say hi and give you any more information you might have. If i don't see you, have a good day!

Alternatively heres a link to my YouTube channel... if you spot me... say hi :-)

Thanks for all the info guys. Yeah I'll be there in a white Caterham, will look out for you Mark.

I'm booked in for a session with Ben Clucas too, had a couple of comments on a different post saying he's a good instructor.

Looks like a good amount of track time for the money, given that it's a weekend.
